Luisa Guaracao

As a founding member of Instacart’s social impact team, Luisa helped launch new programs, products and partnerships to bring the company’s mission to life. During her tenure, Instacart launched award-winning initiatives such as Community Carts, a product that brought food drives online and raised thousands of most needed items for food banks across the country. Luisa also played a pivotal role in the launch of Good Food at Home, a program with the Partnership for a Healthier America that leveraged Instacart’s technology to provide 10 million servings of produce to families with limited access to fresh food.

Prior to Instacart, Luisa worked at Burness Communications in Washington D.C., where she created and executed marketing and communication campaigns for nonprofits and foundations primarily in the public health space. As part of this work, Luisa secured hundreds of stories in outlets like CNN, Univision, Telemundo and USA Today – helping clients expand their reach and influence with key target audiences. Luisa also has experience working with big agencies like Fleishman Hillard and led her own consulting practice for a while too, where she helped clients build campaigns and programs that were true to their mission and good for their brand.

Over the past decade, Luisa has worked with a wide range of national nonprofits including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sesame Street, and the American Heart Association, designing programs and driving impact across many issues such as obesity prevention, food insecurity and human rights.

Luisa speaks three languages, Spanish, Portuguese and English and loves to travel and try new foods. When she’s not at her computer, you can find Luisa in the kitchen trying new recipes or at the beach soaking up the Miami sun. Fun fact: if you say the phrase “what a cow” really fast, you say her last name perfectly.
