The second annual ARAMARK Building Community Innovation Awards honor and support programs that are proven to put people to work and serve as best practice examples of new, creative solutions that help families succeed and revitalize neighborhoods. As part of these awards, ARAMARK provides a total of $100,000 in grants to recognize three community centers and one community center executive director. The awards are hosted in partnership with United Neighborhood Centers of America (UNCA) and the Alliance for Children and Families (Alliance), which together form the largest network of independent, local community centers.

The Peter B. Goldberg ARAMARK Building Community Executive Leadership Award recognizes one outstanding executive director for their active voice and leadership. The 2012 award recipient is Family Service of Greater Boston CEO, Randal Rucker.

The Innovation Awards for Workforce Readiness recognizes community centers for their job readiness programs that put people to work.

  • The 2012 winner for Preparation for Growth Industries is Casa Central’s Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program in Chicago Illinois.
  • The 2012 winner for Business Ventures as a Training Ground is East End Community Services’ Dayton Works Plus in Dayton, Ohio.
  • The 2012 winner for Skills Training for Targeted Populations is Family Service Agency’s Community Re-Integration (CRI) program in Phoenix, Arizona.
