Risa Sherman attended the White House Forum: A Billion + Change in Action: Connecting to the Future of Corporate Service. This forum brought together leaders in the corporate service world to discuss ways to leverage the rich resources of skilled employee-volunteers to move the needle on the White House’s three national priorities: Education, Economy and Environment.

A Billion + Change is a national campaign with the goal to mobilize billions of dollars of pro bono and skills-based volunteer service from businesses by 2013. In less than a year, more than 200 companies have pledged an estimated $1.8 billion and nearly 12 million hours of time and talent to nonprofits. The campaign aims to inspire 500 businesses to achieve the largest commitment of corporate pro bono service in history with the goal of making skills-based volunteering the norm in every workplace. In addition to representing Samuel Adams at the event, the Cause Consulting team made a commitment to dedicate additional pro bono counsel hours, beyond current commitments, to enable nonprofit organizations to strength their brands, forge high impact partnerships and deepen their impact on society.

The campaign was launched in 2008 by the Corporation for National and Community Service, and was reinvigorated in 2011 under the honorary chairmanship of Senator Mark Warner. To read more about the campaign visit their website.
