As part of a partnership announced in 2010, Fidelity Investments and the HandsOn Network, the volunteer arm of the Points of Light Institute, completed their second annual school “Transformation Days” for middle schools in 10 cities. Fidelity employees and local HandsOn action centers worked together in advance with the schools to identify crucial needs such as classroom renovations, increasing outdoor learning spaces, and general grounds and building repairs. Approximately 1,800 volunteers served more than 8,900 hours painting, landscaping and refurbishing schools in Fidelity’s largest employee volunteer effort to date. Learn more about the Transformation Day tour on the Points of Light Blog and read about specific school highlights in the Boston, Salt Lake City, and Cincinnati.
