Overview

Enriching Lives Every Day was architected as a guiding CSR framework, brand, and directional model for one of the world’s largest food and facilities management companies. Its pillars – environmental stewardship, employee advocacy, community involvement, and health and wellness – served as a call-to-action for 250,000 global employees operationalizing CSR across diverse business units and industry segments.

Aramark’s initial approach to CSR transparency summarized and aligned CSR-related business practices from across the company for the first time. This included diversity and inclusion, procurement, recycling, building design, LEED operations, health and nutrition, health awareness and education, menu development, sustainable seafood, employee training and development, employee volunteerism, and community impact, among other core business activities.

The CSR Theme became the inspiration for Aramark’s mission statement – to Enrich and Nourish Lives – and the foundation for future corporate responsibility strategy and transparency.

Within this framework, Aramark Building Community, a global philanthropic and employee volunteer program, deploys the company’s unique professional culinary, nutrition, workforce training and facilities management skills to create opportunities for underserved people to lead healthier lives and succeed in the workplace.  Created and launched by Cause Consulting in 2007, this program continues to rally employees around the globe in enriching the lives of neighbors around the world.
