Overview
GoDaddy powers the world’s largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures. With 17 million customers worldwide and 73 million domain names under management, GoDaddy seeks to radically shift the global economy toward small business. GoDaddy GoCommunities, its global community and philanthropic program, equips entrepreneurs in underserved communities with the training, tools and peer networks they need to bolster their digital presence and accelerate their small business journeys.
GoDaddy is fueling small business ecosystems by collaborating with local community experts and national thought leaders to make entrepreneurship an accessible pathway for every person everywhere. Together with trusted community partners, GoDaddy volunteers teach customized trainings, share digital expertise and offer one-on-one mentoring so nontraditional entrepreneurs are able to boost their small business’ digital experience and gain other critical business skills. The team first activated a virtual pilot with digital micro-lending nonprofit leader Kiva. It then initiated hands-on pilots in two of their home office locations to rapidly test programs and processes that can be scaled to other markets. In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the partners created the city’s first neighborhood-based small business accelerator empowering aspiring and established entrepreneurs to start, confidently grow and successfully run their small business ventures. Through participation in GoDaddy GoCommunities customer service employees feel more aware of and connected to the challenges faced by the small businesses they interact with every day.
