Fidelity at School is Fidelity Investment’s national community relations strategy. The program addresses the U.S. high school dropout crisis by focusing on helping at-risk middle school students achieve the foundational skills required to transition successfully to high school.  Leveraging its long-standing commitment to education and youth, Fidelity at School broadens the company’s long-standing commitment to enhance the educational experiences among the neediest students in the ten U.S. regions where Fidelity employees live and work.

Through partnerships with leading nonprofit innovators such as Teach for America, Citizen Schools and the HandsOn Network, Fidelity is providing middle school students with academic and financial literacy skills; unique opportunities to explore college and careers; and quality learning environments.  Through Citizen Schools, Fidelity employees teach apprenticeships on topics they know best, including their knowledge of financial planning.  The Fidelity Field Trip Program was created with Teach for America to provide their teachers and students with the opportunity to take young people on educational explorations of college and of diverse careers to enhance and inspire student in school learning.  Young people who often do not leave their neighborhoods, have traveled and visited with leaders at the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fidelity Trading Floor, and more than 27 university campuses.  Guided by local HandsOn Network Affiliates, Fidelity employees seek to bring renewed energy and enthusiasm to middle school students by transforming the learning environments during the summer timeframe so when they come back to school they are inspired.  In collaboration with school leaders, students and the community, since 2010, over 4,500 employees have participated in large-scale urban middle school transformation days impacting nearly 8,000 students.  Fidelity then provides ongoing in school mentoring, apprenticeships and other activities to inspire kids to stay on track to receive a high school diploma.

Cause Consulting collaborated on the development, refinement, execution and communications of this initiative.  The team played a lead role forging these high-impact partnerships.  Fidelity at School has been recognized for excellence by many leading organizations in the ten regions including New Hampshire Partners in Education, the Massachusetts Service Alliance, the Durham, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Boston Cares.
