Adobe Youth Voices is a global philanthropic program of the Adobe Foundation. The program engages 13-18 year-olds in an educational experience to capture their passion and concerns about issues that matter to them most by creating media. The program empowers global educators to integrate technology in their teaching to inspire youth. Through the process of developing and producing videos, animations, photo essays and/or web content, young people learn critical technology and life skills and realize the power and influence of their voice.
Originating from Adobe’s corporate mission “to revolutionize how the world engages with ideas and information,” this initiative demonstrates how passionate young people are about sharing their perspective about societal issues; the impactful role technology paired with great educators can play in helping youth gain critical skills for life; and how important it is to engage a diverse set of stakeholders to not only implement the program but in experiencing the media created by youth.
Cause Consulting team members collaborated on the development, refinement, and communications of this program, since 2006. We advised on and supported the execution of program strategy, partnerships, global exhibition, communications, and long-term planning.
Adobe Youth Voices has become a youth and education movement. Now in over 50 countries, more than 150,000 young people have participated in creating and sharing powerful films about issues that concern them. Through strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations such as Black Eyed Peas, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), The Global Fund for Children, The Intel Computer Clubhouse Network, Chicago Public Schools, Urban Arts Partnership, and local film festivals across the globe, young people are taking action.
In 2010, the Adobe Foundation created the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards to celebrate extraordinary work produced by young media makers from around the globe. View this year’s finalists and winners.
