Strengthening Business + Impacting Society

Mark Feldman
Transformed by watching his first surgery while in college, Mark immediately knew that he would never become a doctor. He thus applied his passion for helping people and love of problem-solving towards mobilizing others around critical social issues. Mark launched his career at New York Cares and then moved on to Harvard's Kennedy School, Citibank's Community Affairs group, and The Corporation for National Service/AmeriCorps. Mark later became Executive Vice President of Omnicom's Cone and for eight years ran the Cause Branding Practice. Over the past 20 years, Mark has mastered the languages of the business, government, and social sectors. Today, he uses words like sustainability, citizenship, engagement, and branding to describe his experience "operating" inside companies including Starbucks, Time Warner, The Home Depot, Fidelity Investments, Proctor & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, and ARAMARK. Mark is co-author of "Causes and Effects," a best practice article on Cause Branding in the Harvard Business Review and is a frequent public speaker and source for national publications such as the Wall Street Journal. His operating theatre also includes serving as a faculty member at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. You will always find Mark ready to "scrub in" for the next CSR challenge.

Nikki Korn
As a college tennis player, Nikki learned that strategy, efficiency, and speed were among her key ingredients for success. Today she loves applying these skills to helping companies get winning results. In her role as a senior strategist, Nikki establishes a game plan for each assignment and is not afraid to push-back or take risks. She is a seasoned negotiator and inspires her teams and clients with her ability to come up with creative ideas and powerful initiatives. Earlier in her career, Nikki was a Vice President at Cone where she built cause programs such as JCPenney Afterschool, Chevy R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Communities & Kids), T-Mobile Huddle Up, and the Pearson Teacher Fellowship. While in Washington, DC as part of the Millennium Communications Group, she ran briefings and released reports on a wide range of issues including education; worked events at the White House; and conducted outreach on behalf of her government and nonprofit clients. Now, Nikki follows in the footsteps of her family members running her own company. She enjoys integrating her broad experience within the retail, fashion/beauty, technology, automotive, and the financial services sectors to connect her clients with critical social issues and popular culture. Expect Nikki to be thinking and moving fast; focusing on the details; and persevering. When Nikki is not working on CSR issues, she's with her family, on the tennis court, or at a Boston sporting event screaming her lungs out.

Risa Sherman
A self-ascribed "information junkie," Risa is always in the loop. Whether her fodder comes from blogs, newspapers, magazines, Web sites, radio, TV, or the many list servs to which she subscribes, she is a hound for trends and information of all sorts. From tracking the latest movements in corporate citizenship and philanthropy, to the weather, traffic conditions and, even obituaries, Risa is a wealth of knowledge that is, in one way or another, applicable throughout her hectic days. Risa is connected to people and their ideas, and she maximizes her data bank to help companies, brands, and nonprofits advance their missions and differentiate themselves in the marketplace. Whether crafting cause marketing campaigns, forging public/private partnerships, or helping clients develop employee volunteerism and corporate social responsibility programs, she loves to put the pieces together and, yes, apply that vast array of information, to solve a business challenge. As a Principal and strategist at PowerPact and consultant at Cone, she helped companies and brands like Yoplait, Betty Crocker, Gillette, Centrum, and P&G develop award-winning programs and nonprofits such as America on the Move, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Diabetes Association, and AARP strengthen their positions in the cause "marketplace." If it's happening, Risa will have heard about it, applied it to something she is working on, or filed it away for a client she may not have even met yet...knowing that, eventually, something she learned may be the missing piece to a client's puzzle.

Nicole Lamberg
It was always hard to get Niki to come home from the playground for dinner; she just loved to play. Not surprisingly, fun and teaching have become a core part of her career advising companies and nonprofit organizations on marketing and partnership strategies. As Director of Marketing for Boston Children's Museum, one of the nation's oldest and largest such institutions, she cultivated multilingual audiences and engaged corporate sponsors in education programs. She wrote and produced national radio and TV commercials and helped launch Chicago Tribune's cable news network. As a Cause Consulting marketing advisor she loved helping PlayPumps International enable kids in Africa to play while they simultaneously pumped clean drinking water. Giving students the gift of music with Fidelity FutureStage makes her shout out in song. Don't be surprised if Niki is hosting her next conference call directly from her local merry-go-round.
