		<description>We are equally pleased to see activity in this area. The aim of our work at Boston College on defining competencies for CSR leaders is to add definition to the field, a level of general understanding of what is required to lead CSR with success. The practitioners engaged in our project have noted that they are most often the first in their companies to hold such a position, and while they know their role and its corresponding challenges and techniques for success they acquired over time, they also worry how the company would fill their shoes one day, since that knowledge rested with themselves alone. We hope our competency model will spur additional discussion about this new profession and how best to equip individuals and companies for it. For example, one of our main findings is that prior experience in other business leadership roles is critical. 

There is certainly more work to be done, and we plan to extend our research to the role of the corporate community involvement leader, as well as provide guidance for recruiters to identify competencies for responsibility in leaders for all managerial areas. Look out for the release of the corporate citizenship competency model on our website in September.</description>
