In college, Niki was always hanging around in the theatre – hanging mid-air adjusting spotlights, that is. Not surprisingly, arts, culture and understanding audiences have become a core part of her career advising companies and nonprofit organizations on partnership and marketing strategies.
Now, Niki brings us “dramatic” experience from inside non-profits. Her sectors of special expertise include: youth and families, the arts and culture, education and sustainability. As Director of Marketing for Boston Children’s Museum, one of the nation’s oldest and largest such institutions, Niki opened the Museum’s doors through multi-cultural marketing, new organizational branding, and media partnerships, helping the Museum achieve a ten-year high in annual attendance. As a consultant, she has advised non-profits large and small on marketing and growth strategies: helping the Case Foundation position its investment in PlayPumps International; building a holiday-season program for ArtsBoston that generates a half-million dollars annually for the city’s performing arts groups; and ratcheting up ticket sales for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. She has played similar roles for City Year, The Discovery Museums, Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, The Food Project, among others.
Niki is at ease bridging the business and non-profit scenes because she comes from a corporate background herself: she managed an Emmy-winning creative team and crafted marketing strategy, community outreach and websites for TV news operations in Boston and Chicago. She has written and produced (and occasionally voiced) national TV and radio commercials. She spent years in newsrooms and also helped launch the Chicago Tribune’s cable news network. Niki has an art for crafting a solid story and her pragmatic and thoughtful approach can provide just the right ticket. nlamberg@causeconsulting.com
