AMD launched their NextGen Engineer program to provide college engineering students with the multidisciplinary skills and experiences required to lead innovation for global impact.
AMD’s NextGen Engineer initiative brings to life the company’s commitment to developing globally-focused engineers who, in addition to their deep technical expertise, possess the leadership, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and creative capabilities to meet the world’s most pressing technological and social challenges. To this end, AMD is helping convene companies, academia, NGOs and government to ensure that our educational institutions align classroom learning and real world situations to meet the needs of society and industry. AMD has forged alliances with leading organizations and programs whose interests are similar to the goals of the NextGen Engineer platform including the American Society for Engineering Education, Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program, National Grand Challenge Scholars Program, National Academy of Engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign/Engineer of the Future 4.0 Conference and University of Texas Austin.
NextGen Engineer is the most recent addition to the company’s philanthropic and corporate focus on ensuring a continuum of STEM education. In addition to AMD’s Changing the Game program, which uses digital game creation to engage middle and high school students in vibrant STEM learning projects, AMD nurtures its own technical talent and aligns their development with best-in-class academic practices..
